Pete Hines says the Fallout 4 building options will be greater than Skyrim’s.
In a QuakeCon interview given to Gamespot yesterday, Bethesda Marketing VP Pete Hines revealed more information in regards to the Fallout 4 building system. Hines indicated that the eagerly awaited game has many customization choices, and that players will have more building options than Skyrim.
Fallout 4 Building Options
Skyrim’s Hearthfire expansion allowed players to build their very own homes (see Build A House In Skyrim In 5 Easy Steps). Players were given building options, but those options were basically tied to pre-determined floor plans, and customization choices were limited.
In Fallout 4, Hines describes an open-world building system where players can dream big.
Much like a game like Minecraft, you can be a noob and just build a simple little thing. And you can also get the guys who go crazy and [can say], ‘I rebuilt the spaceship from this game… [or] I rebuilt the Tardis from Doctor Who using the lights and stuff and it looks exactly like it.
Players won’t be given complete free rein, however. The actual building locations within the game are limited, but players will be given lots of freedom to build and create within those spaces.
